Vernee, a Shenzhen-based smartphone manufacturer announced during the CES held in Las Vegas last month that they will be launching an Helio X30 powered Smartphone during the MWC event in Barcelona.

A lot of information were not spared back in CES about the upcoming Helio X30 powered Vernee Smartphone. However, thanks to Roland Quandt, a very popular leakster, we now know a lot more about the device.

The Helio X30 is the latest chipset from MediaTek and is expected to be a huge leap forward in terms of performance and efficiency than its predecessors. The Helio X30 is a deca-core processor built with the 10nm architecture. The Helio X30 also has an 820MHz IMG 7XTP-Mt4 GPU.

For starters, the device will be titled the Apollo 2 and will be marketed as the “World’s First Helio X30 powered Android Smartphone”. The leak also suggests that the device will be available in two different variants based on RAM and storage. The 6GB RAM variant will have 64GB of internal storage whereas to get 128GB of inbuilt storage, you will have to pick the 8GB RAM variant.

Other specifications leaked about the Vernee Apollo 2 include a Quad-HD display(size unknown).

MediaTek is trying really hard to keep up with the growing competition. Their recently announced Helio P25 chipset, focused on dual-camera devices, turned out to be really impressive. We can’t wait to see what MediaTek has in store with the Helio X30.
