Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will get direct Android 7.1 Nougat update

Right now, the users who have enrolled in the Samsung’s Galaxy Beta Testing Program will be able to test Android 7.0 on their Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge phones. But it looks like that its is the initial step taken towards the development of Nougat update. However, the stable release of Nougat for the S7 flagships will be 7.1. Previously, the LG V20 and Nexus devices powered by Android 7.0 which was the initial version of Nougat.

Later both Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL were unveiled with an upgraded version, v7.1.
The Android 7.1 Nougat in Pixel devices featured with minor improvements when compared to version 7.0. Additionally, it also had some significant performance along with enhanced touch functionality and Daydream VR compatible. However, there are no announcements that whether Gear VR will attain Daydream support or not.
