JioPhone with Unlimited 4G Data, VoLTE Calls launched by Mukesh Ambani

Finally, Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has announced their latest feature phone JioPhone which offers Unlimited 4G Data and VoLTE Calls at a price of Rs. 153 per month. The phone is introduced as “India ka Smartphone” with an effective price of ₹0“. But while buying the phone you have to deposit ₹1500 as security money which will be refunded after three years.

JioPhone will be available from September 1 this year through “first come first serve basis”. The phone will be up for pre-order from August 24 and before that, a limited amount of phones will be available for beta testing.

JioPhone comes with different plans like ₹153 per month in which you will get free Unlimited Voice calls, Data and Jio Apps. You can also choose ₹309 pack where you will get support to mirror your mobile screen on a TV through HDMI or VGA Cable. The company will also have sachet packs of ₹24 with 2days validity and ₹54 with 7days validity for those who don’t want to spend ₹153 per month.

JioPhone Specs

As far as specs are concerned, JioPhone comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA Display with 4-way Navigation key, Alphanumeric keypad, microSD card slot, torch light, FM Radio. The device also has a rear camera, 22 major Indian languages, internet, NFC, tap-and-pay payments through UPI, and voice command support. Out of the box, the device will come with Jio Music, Jio Cinema, and Jio TV apps. If you long press “5” to call emergency number your location including GPS data will be sent to the emergency contact.

Jio is targeting to roll out 5 million JioPhones every week and the phone can be pre-ordered through Jio Retailers and My Jio app.
