Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has introduced Honor Play in China. Let’s check out the specifications of the Honor Play smartphone below.
Honor Play Specifications
The Honor Play sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a notch, 89% screen-to-body ratio, 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution, and 19:5:9 aspect ratio. The phone comes with 4GB or 6GB RAM and has an inbuilt memory of 256GB which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD.
The device is powered by Kirin 970 Octa-Core processor along with Mali-G72 MP12 GPU to handle the graphics. Besides that, the Honor Play will also use the new GPU Turbo technology which the company introduced at the event.
GPU Turbo is a graphics processing technology which combines hardware and software to improve graphics efficiency in smartphones, especially while gaming. This alleged technology will reduce 30% usage of SoC and increase the overall performance of GPU by 60% in both mid-range and high-end smartphones.
The Honor Play has a dual rear camera setup containing a 16MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2aperture, PDAF, and CAF. It also comes with AI scene recognition feature which can detect over 500 scenes. Next to it is a 2MP secondary rear camera with a f/2.4 aperture for taking portrait shots. The phone has a 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
It is a Hybrid Dual-SIM smartphone which comes with dual 4G VoLTE support and other connectivities such as WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. Out of the box, Honor Play runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top of it. The phone has a 3750mAh battery with fast charging support and a fingerprint sensor on the back.
The phone provides 4D gaming experience with real-time recognition of the game scene which vibrates the phone and intelligently matchups to 30 different senses promising more realistic game scene experience. Apart from that, the Honor Play also sports 7.1-channel 3D Histen audio for immersive audio experience while gaming.
Honor Play Pricing and Availability
Honor Play arrives in Black Blue and Violet colors with a price tag of 1999 yuan ($312) for the 4GB RAM version and 2399 yuan ($375) for the 6GB RAM version. The phone is now available for pre-order and it will go on sale in Chinon on June 11th.
