Sony is trying to get back on the game with the announcement of the Xperia XZ2 at MWC 2018. The device features all the bells and whistles needed to be considered as a worthy flagship in 2018.

The Xperia XZ2 has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset at its heart along with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. The device will run Android 8.0.0 Oreo out of the box.

The glass construction of the XZ2 features a 3D design and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and so is the 5.7-inch 18:9 ratio Full HD+ Triluminos HDR display on the front.

There is also a stereo speaker setup on the front supported by S-Force Front Surround.

Changing from typical Sony fashion of side-mounted fingerprint sensor, the sensor is now moved to the back of the device and sits under the 19MP primary camera which can take 4K resolution videos and slo-mo videos at 960 frames per second. There is also a 5MP camera up front.

The XZ2 is also the first Smartphone in the world with HDR Movie Recording supported up to 4K resolution. There is also ISO sensitivity up to 51200 for photos and up to 12800 for videos.

The device has IP65/IP68 certification for water and dust resistance and the 3180mAh battery on the device supports both wireless charging and fast charging.

There is no official pricing info available yet but the sale of the Xperia XZ2 will begin from March. The Sony Xperia XZ2 will be available in four color variants: Deep Green, Ash Pink, Liquid Black, and Liquid Silver.
