Qualcomm Spills the Beans On Asus Zenfone AR

Qualcomm has eroded the leverage around its latest – Asus ZenFone AR – much ahead of the CES convention, by inadvertently dropping some vital information. In what looks like an overhasty announcement, the company in a blog post revealed that Asus ZenFore AR is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, and is the world’s first Tango-powered, Daydream-enabled smartphone model.

Interestingly, the blog, which was due out on January 4 (as evident in the picture below), came up two days earlier, killing all the hype and guesswork.

The blog post reads:

“With Zenfone AR and the Daydream View headset and controller, you’ll be able to explore new worlds with apps like Google Street View and Fantastic Beasts, dive into your personal VR cinema with YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and HBO, and get your game on with Gunjack 2, LEGO BrickHeadz, Need for Speed and dozens other titles.”

The device will be the first of the lot to have a run on both Google’s Augmented and Virtual Reality Platforms.

Tango and Daydream, in a combination, seal an impressive deal in all likelihood. The two powers of the modern-age engineering also promise double action in terms of applications and utility.
