Reliance Jio, India’s largest 4G operator as per subscribers and network coverage have now started home delivery of SIMs. We believe, this move will surely enhance the Mukesh Ambani-led telecom operator to get more and more subscribers. However, home delivery of Jio SIM is currently offered in only a few Indian cities like New Delhi & NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Pune.
Jio achieved 16 million subscriber counts within a matter of one month of its official launch and since then, the number increased to 24 million by the end of next month. In India, previously, no other telecom operator has ever gained such huge subscribers score within less than 3 months, and in fact, some carriers took several months or even years to score such a subscribers count. A point to be noted is, Reliance Jio has not taken the organic path to reach such a number!
Under its Welcome offer, Reliance Jio has been offering free SIMs since its official launch on 5 September 2016. As per the offer, Jio users will get 100 free SMS per day, unlimited 4G internet, and unlimited voice and video calls. Further, there will be no blackout days or roaming charges. Along with this, users will get free access to Jio’s premium app suite which offers Live TV, along with video and music streaming. All these free services will be valid until 31st December 2016.
As per reports, Jio might extend the Welcome Offer up to March 2017 since the subscribers are not able to enjoy 4G internet service and free call service clearly due to slow net speed and call drops. Previously Jio hinted that they might extend the Welcome Offer to satisfy their customers. If customers are satisfied, they won’t spend extra bucks on any other carrier, so this makes sense for Jio to penetrate the market.
