A few days back, Chinese iPhone 6s users complained that their devices are getting shut down though a certain battery percentage remains. After a thorough investigation, Apple found that a limited batch of iPhone 6s devices manufactured from September to October 2015 has a manufacturing fault. Therefore Apple launched a worldwide faulty battery replacement program. Later on, Apple noted that they would update the iOS with an automatic battery diagnostic tool which will share information regarding battery issues.

Recently, Shanghai consumer group in China handed over eight reports of spontaneous combustion of both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s device to Apple. So far, this is the 3rd battery complaint issued by Chinese consumer groups as a whole, against iPhone 6 and 6s.

Apple has quickly responded to the latest reports. Apple concluded that in the later case, iPhone 6 devices caught fire because of misuse, not because of a manufacturing fault. However, Apple encouraged those iPhone 6 and 6s consumers to seek a solution to their problem from a nearby Apple Store.
