HTC has just announced their latest flagship smartphone HTC 11. The device comes with a unique feature called Edge Sense. Using this feature you can perform some specific actions by squeezing the HTC U11’s frame. You can launch Camera, open emails and text messages and any app by customizing it. You can also customize the squeeze sensitivity like “short squeeze” or “squeeze and hold” to perform different actions.
U11 will come with Sense Companion app which will give you suggestions based on your activity with the device. The device will come with inbuilt Google Assistant in some regions and in some other markets it will also feature Amazon Alexa.
The device comes with 3D audio recording capability and features omnidirectional four microphones which help it to capture the audio from all directions while recording something. U11 features HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition which promises better Dynamic Range Audio.
HTC 11 sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD Super LCD 5 display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The device is powered by octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with Adreno 540 GPU. In terms of storage and RAM, it has two variants 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. Out of the box, HTC 11 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with HTC Sense UI on the top.
U11 features 12MP UltraPixel 3 snapper with dual LED flash, 1.4μm pixel, f/1.7 aperture, OIS and UltraSpeed Autofocus. The rear camera can capture up to 4K videos and Full HD slow-mo videos at 120fps. The front-facing camera is a 16MP snapper. It captures videos up to 1080p and has Selfie Panorama mode. According to the company, HTC U11 beats Google Pixel by getting DxOMark score of 90 which is highest ever as a smartphone camera.
HTC U11 doesn’t have 3.5mm audio port so you have to use the USB-C to listen to music. The company will provide a very high-quality Active Noise Cancellation enabled earphone to enjoy music. The device is Water and dust resistant certified by IP57 and features a Fingerprint sensor placed on the Home button. Under the hood, it has a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging.
HTC U11 is priced at €749/£649/$699 for the 6GB variant and it will be available worldwide from June 2017. Some selected will get it from next week. The device will be available in Amazing Silver, Brilliant Black, Sapphire Blue, Ice White, and Solar Red color variants.
