Huawei is set to release its P60 series of flagship smartphones and rumors are swirling about the devices’ camera capabilities.

Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster, has shared details about the Huawei P60 Pro’s camera, which is said to feature a 64-megapixel OmniVision telephoto RYYB sensor that supports 3.5x optical zoom. The RYYB sensor replaces two green pixels with two yellow pixels, which allows for better light intake and improves night shooting capabilities by up to 40%.

However, the RYYB sensor also presents some challenges, such as potential color casting issues. To overcome this, Huawei needs to employ powerful ISP hardware and algorithm support. By doing so, the P60 Pro’s camera will be able to capture details in dark scenes with a remarkable imaging effect that is “comparable to night vision devices.”

The P60 Pro also reportedly supports variable aperture, which intelligently selects the aperture size according to the scene, and has a professional mode that supports ten levels of physical aperture adjustment, allowing users to adjust the depth of field range and bokeh at will.

Huawei’s P series has always been known for its excellent camera technology, and the P60 Pro looks set to continue this tradition. By utilizing advanced camera hardware and software, the P60 Pro’s camera is poised to capture high-quality images and videos that will appeal to photography enthusiasts and casual users alike.
