Xiaomi becomes second leading smartphone seller in India in Q4 2016

According to the IDC report, Xiaomi has now become the second leading smartphone manufacturer in India in the fourth quarter of 2016. Xiaomi has achieved this after selling the Redmi 3S variants which are sold over 3 million in just six months after its launch last year. Reportedly, the Chinese company jumped to a second position holding 10.7% share in CY Q4 2016 versus 3.3% in the same quarter last year.

The year-on-year sales of Xiaomi smartphones are grown thrice with a progressive growth of 15.3% in the calendar year of Q4 2016. Xiaomi started selling its smartphones a while back in India in 2014. From then the firm has got immense success in the Indian market by creating record sales of more than 1 million smartphones in just 18 days. Furthermore, Xiaomi also surpassed 2 million sales in first time last year in Q3 and even generated $1 billion revenue for 2016 as well.
