Uber standalone app arrives on Android Wear 2.0

A while back in 2015, Uber announced that it’d soon unveil its app for Android Wear. Now finally almost two years later the ride-sharing service is live and accessible from your wrist, if only you’re one of the lucky few owning Android wear 2.0 powered device. In case if you have an Android Wear 2.0 powered wearable device you can download the app from Play Store. However, the most compelling thing is that Uber comes as a standalone app on your watch.

Therefore, it doesn’t need a tethered mobile phone or an accompanying app rather it functions on its own. The smartwatch version of the app has most of its standard app features. It allows users to request rides, check time estimates and prices, riff through bookmarked destinations and more.

The Lyft is a rival of Uber, and it doesn’t have an Android wear 2.0 app. Besides this, a few days back, it also even removed its own Android Wear 1.0 app from Play Store. Anyway now you can download the latest Uber app to get all new features on your watch.
