Huawei Mate 9 has scored over 132289 points in AnTuTu benchmark app. The latest Huawei handset, Huawei Mate 9 sports a powerful Kirin 960 chipset which outperforms the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset in certain aspects. It is the first device to be powered by a Kirin 960 chipset. However, it is still behind Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 devices which have managed to score around 160000.

Kirin 960 fails in GPU test. Mali G71 of Kirin 960 chipset is left behind Adreno 530 GPU of Snapdragon 821 chipset that was found in LeEco Le Pro 3. Though the Mali GPU comes with spectacular improvements over its previous models, it is still not yet as potential as the Adreno GPUs.

Kirin 960 is manufactured using TSMC’s 16nm FinFET technology. The chipset is powered by four cortex-A73 cores and four cortex-A53 cores. Huawei’s P10, that is scheduled for 2017 launch is expected to sport a Kirin 960 chipset and that time Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 830 will pop up.
