Once, Donald Trump said at a rally that he would force Apple to manufacture devices in the US. According to Nikkei Report, Apple has asked its suppliers from China whether it is possible to shift iPhone manufacturing in the US soil or not.

As per reports, Foxconn is willing to check the possibilities but Pegatron is not ready to even consider it. Pegatron claims that if production is shifted, there will be an unnecessary increase in production cost. The cost might be just double.

It seems that Apple is looking forward exploring this option because otherwise, Trump Administration might work on their verbal promise. However, as far as finance is concerned, it makes no sense to shift the manufacturing business to US soil. It will only work if a new tax is levied on goods produced off-shore.
